In 2017, we are all living in a very fast-paced world that having new camera body coming out every 2 years, what is the best time for us the user to upgrade our currently owned body?
Another awesome engagement shoot session back in December 2016! Thanks Mymy and Victor for the opportunity for me to take part in such an important shoot of their lives!
Adelaide is such a blessed place that has so many awesome and beautiful places. This time we went away from the metro area into McLaren Vale
When we walk into a shop (or virtually, into an online shop) to buy a camera, you are often presented with the options of "Body only" or "Kit bundle". Next, you will go to Google to search for opinion and it turns out that there is no conclusive information.
So, the question is, what is the difference between kit lens and a PRO lens, if any?
It has been almost a year since this lovely engagement shoot with Lowin and Eddie! We are really grateful of being able to do this shoot for this sweet couple!
Lowin and Eddie has opted for rustic vintage style, and while the word "vintage" may give you a feeling of "plain, old, washed-out", the atmosphere of the shoot itself was definitely not!
Remember a while back we have discussed about different size of sensor format. Very often if you go out to hire a photographer, whether it is for a birthday party, a wedding or a family shot, he or she will most likely show up with a Canon/Nikon DSLR (and likely to be a Full Frame).
Then we had another article about a quick camera choosing guide, but people still tend to ask the same question: if they ever need to get a Full Frame camera?
Although I have not been to everywhere in the world, there is no doubt that Autumn is a very special season for scenery photography.
This year, we have been to Mt Lofty Botanic Garden with our church group and had the chance to take some beautiful scenery photos.....
In June 2016, I had a chance to travel back to my home town – Hong Kong for a short period of time. It was always nice to go back there visiting my parents, families and friends.
One day, my wife and I walked pass the famous Victoria Harbour – because we have a few hours of free time before dining with friends nearby.
“You know what? I think I have never taken a picture of this famous view!”
Yes – it sounds ridiculous and unbelievable! But it was true! So I immediately decided to take a few.
Many people often wonder when they see some breathtaking professional photos: oh I don’t have those high end equipment and hence I can never create a picture of that level.
Today I am here to tell you: this is not entirely true!
A successful photographer often not only has great technical skills and creative mind – but an unique style as well.
So, how can you find your own style and become a successful photographer? Here are a few tips:
So, many people have asked: How to take a nice landscape photo?
Or in other words: what do I need to make my landscape photo looks different from a phone snapshot?
Here are some equipment that I will use at a landscape shoot:
Hang on, isn’t every manufacturer trying to promote how smart their Auto mode is? And now we are telling you that it is bad for you? Let’s find out why!
“Auto” mode, as per the name suggested, it does everything for you. In other words, you can just:
– pick up the camera
– point it at the object
– press the button
– ..and done!
So, why is it bad????
Are you looking at getting a brand new camera?
Or your current camera is due for an upgrade but you are confused about all the latest and newest products?
Hope this will help you to make the decision!
“if my skill is good enough, I can take perfect picture at the first place as soon as I press the shutter button. Post-processing is only for people that didn’t have good skill and needed some correction to be done later to save the photo.”
Is it really true? This is what we think...
Back in the days, whenever you see people holding (or even just owning) a SLR (or in fact, any proper sized camera), you will immediately think that he/she is a professional photographer.
As time goes by, camera has become more and more affordable especially the bulky-professional-look DSLR – you will see many DSLR owners on the street these days. It also means that it is now easier to produce high quality photos and many more people have then decided to try earn some money from photos.
The question is, can we work full time as a photographer – and have a good life out of it?
Let's find out!
As technology continues to evolve, many tech devices including our mobile phone is getting smaller and smaller, but with more and more features included. One of the most evolutionary change would be the phone camera.
I still remember when I got my first camera phone – Nokia 7250. It has a…hmm well…CIF camera.
“What?! What is CIF??” – CIF stands for Common Intermediate Format – the maximum resolution is around 350 x 290 (I cannot remember the exact number) which probably works out to be 0.1 megapixel!
You may ask: was that even usable? – YES! Of Course! And I have taken a lot of photos with it! – Unfortunately most of them are lost now. In fact, now that I look up the spec of this phone again on gsmarena, I cannot believe it was a 725KB storage phone and I don’t remember I complained much about it!
And now we all complain about a phone that only has 16GB…how funny that is!
What was your first smart phone camera? (well, or camera smart phone whichever way you call it LOL) Share with us your experience!
